About The Position

As part of a dynamic Undergraduate Admissions team, this position is responsible for recruitment, conversion, and yield tactics to help enroll well-qualified undergraduate students to the university. Duties are expected to include, but are not limited to, application review, student recruitment travel, answering email and phone inquiries, developing and administering presentations, conducting appointments in a variety of mediums such as face-to-face and virtually, and personal outreach. This full-time position has a 12-month obligation. The department of Undergraduate Admissions focuses on attracting and enrolling a qualified and diverse student body to SUNY Plattsburgh through a variety of methods. We are a part of the Enrollment and Student Success division which supports a student's entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Effective communication skills: oral, written and interpersonal
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
  • Valid driver's license at the time of appointment
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout New York and contiguous states
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds
  • Ability and willingness to perform evening and weekend work
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively and collegially with colleagues
  • Ability to master knowledge of programs/services available to college students
  • Ability to effectively develop and deliver presentations

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education
  • Familiarity with Banner software; Technolutions Slate CRM (or other CRM software)
  • Experience with public speaking
  • Experience working collaboratively in team environments
  • Experience working in higher education and/or secondary education
  • Experience processing computer data
  • Experience formatting and generating reports
  • Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues
  • Knowledge of SUNY Plattsburgh and the surrounding region
