How you'll contribute An Admission Supervisor who excels in this role: Supervises daily staff activities within assigned functional area. Performs all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Determines, coordinates, and oversees daily staffing assignments and coverage levels. Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring; conducts or supports performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Monitors quality of services and supports staff development initiatives; ensures compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. Assists with frontline responsibilities as needed to maintain service levels. Leads resolution of complex operational issues and escalated concerns. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned. Serves internal team members and external stakeholders, including patients, clients, contractors, and vendors. Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Demonstrates strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA), business office standards, and best practices.. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the work of others who perform essentially the same work. May set priorities, schedule and review work, but have no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance and/or make pay decisions.

Requirements

  • Education : Associate’s Degree in related field preferred Applicable work experience (3-5 years in a supervisor healthcare role/capacity) may be used in lieu of education
  • Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Moderate Computer Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.
  • Moderate Communication -- Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.
  • Routine Business Problems -- Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
