Job Summary Under the general direction of the Admissions Module Lead, this position is responsible for the construction, configuration, and maintenance of Supplemental Application, Transfer Admissions Evaluation (TAE), and Curriculum rules and systems. The analyst analyzes and evaluates complex CSU/CSULB curriculum and policies, including General Education, to ensure they are accurately reflected in campus-wide tools, spanning from a student's admission to graduation. This includes developing and applying curriculum rules within university tools, including testing and validation of the results. Additionally, the analyst will document, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure accuracy and reliability, and assist with the evaluation, upgrades and fixes related to campus functionality. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to understand academic curriculum, with its myriad majors and options, and its complex set of General Education requirements.
  • Perform analysis, testing, and documentation to maintain and expand the scope of the advising tools in order to meet the business needs of the university.
  • Experience updating, analyzing and interpreting data using information databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply academic and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate situations and data, make accurate recommendations on appropriate course of action.
  • Ability to analyze user needs and translate into appropriate complex rules in support of business processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve system-related problems.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling competing demands, prioritize tasks, and deliver results with minimal supervision is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and to establish and maintain successful working relationships with Enrollment Services leadership, peers, faculty and students within a diverse campus community.
  • Treats all customers (students, faculty and staff colleagues) with dignity and respect, empathy, fairness and professionalism, consistent with the university mission, values and strategic vision.
  • Ensures operational integrity and continuity by maintaining detailed descriptions of responsibilities, ranging from daily tasks to strategic activities and outcomes, and makes them available to supervisor.

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in applicable field and two years of direct work experience required

  • Ability to use PeopleSoft tools to effect the curriculum revisions promulgated by Academic Affairs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation, updates, monitoring and maintenance of the admission systems requirements including Supplemental Application, Transfer Admissions Evaluation (TAE), Cal State Apply, PeopleSoft Admissions module, SLATE, etc.
  • Assist with transfer credit Rule-Building.
  • Provides admission configuration and maintenance support.
  • Responsible for assisting with the system implementation, setup, and testing of software updates.
  • Assist with on-line System Testing for all components related to the Admissions modules.
