About The Position

The Admissions Advisor (AA) serves as both a career counselor and the initial assessor for student appropriateness for Gurnick Academy programs. The AA plays a critical role in the student acceptance process by utilizing various tools, including interviews, competency tests, experience reviews, and academic requirement assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assess and Counsel Prospective Students: Understand the viability of programs for prospective students and ensure that students' stated goals align with career opportunities presented by the program of interest.
• Monitor Student Progress: Support students enrolled in prerequisite courses and the first 30 days of the program, revisiting initial goals and personal circumstances of the students if necessary.
• Outbound Communication: Review and respond to all web inquiries and calls from prospective students, schedule appointments and campus tours.
• Interview Candidates: Understand candidates' motives and assess the appropriateness of the program for their career objectives and personal circumstances.
• Educate and Inform: Clearly explain the nature of each program, including academic demands and requirements, and communicate documentation needs effectively.
• Provide Feedback: Give one-on-one feedback and coaching based on results from assessments.
• Administrative Support: Complete application forms with students and update the pipeline status for candidates throughout the admissions process, from initial contact to enrollment.
• Reporting and Meetings: Prepare student enrollment reports for weekly campus discussions and attend weekly staff meetings as directed by the Campus Director.
• Community Engagement: Participate in community functions and career days, attend campus graduation ceremonies as per graduation procedures, and seek and engage in ongoing best practices for admissions as assigned by direct management.
• Additional Duties: Perform any other tasks as required by their direct manager.
