About The Position

The Admissions Advisor at DeVry University serves as the first point of contact for prospective students, playing a crucial role in guiding them through the admissions process. This position focuses on building meaningful relationships with students, understanding their educational and career goals, and helping them overcome obstacles to enrollment. The advisor will engage with students through phone and video conferencing, tailoring information about DeVry's programs to meet individual needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Ability to work at a desk and on a computer for extended periods.
  • Quiet, distraction-free work environment during scheduled shifts.
  • Hardwired DSL or Cable Internet connection.
  • Passion for education and helping students achieve their goals.
  • Strong communication skills to create meaningful relationships with students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including weeknights and Saturdays.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in admissions or higher education counseling.
  • Familiarity with financial aid processes.

Responsibilities

  • Reach out to prospective students via phone and video conferencing.
  • Conduct interviews to understand students' motivations and career goals.
  • Help prospective students identify degree programs that match their needs.
  • Guide students through the admissions process, including answering questions and linking them to financial aid and academic advisors.
  • Network and build relationships with students to identify additional prospective students.
