About The Position

The Hospital - Admission Scheduler is responsible for scheduling procedures for all departments within the hospital. Responsibilities Provides telephonic support to the hospital; schedules appointments for Inpatient patients maintains hospital schedule/template, and enters referrals/authorizations. Verifies and/or creates all registration and insurance information for established or new patients at each point of patient contact, updating when necessary. Streamlines the message management process by documenting requests in the system; gathers all information appropriately and prioritizes messages based on urgency. Assists hospital staff with any questions or concerns; attempts to resolve all issues or concerns. Provide backup support/coverage to the front desk when necessary. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Understanding of healthcare insurance plans, coverage, and terminology
  • Knowledge of patient registration and scheduling system
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a demanding environment
  • High level of attention to detail in documentation and reporting
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient typing and keyboarding skills
  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • High School diploma or GED required
