About The Position

The Admission Counselor at Clark University plays a vital role in engaging prospective students and their families through various recruitment activities. This position focuses on promoting the undergraduate educational experience while ensuring an inclusive admission process for under-represented and underserved students. The counselor will analyze applications, coordinate recruitment events, and serve as a liaison with community organizations to enhance access and inclusion in the admissions process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in Admissions, Student Life, or related fields.
  • Willingness to travel and possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Strong public speaking skills and excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products.
  • Willingness to learn new skills to enhance team performance.
  • Proven time management skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in on- and off-campus admissions and recruitment activities.
  • Analyze and review applications for the undergraduate program.
  • Liaise with key offices and staff to support an inclusive admission experience.
  • Coordinate and execute the Access and Inclusion Overnight program, Expedition Clark.
  • Assist in developing on-campus events for diverse student recruitment.
  • Maintain partnerships with community-based organizations and secondary schools.
  • Research trends in assigned geographic territory for recruitment.
  • Plan logistics for recruitment travel and attend college fairs and high school visits.
  • Communicate with prospective students, families, and school counselors.
  • Conduct group information sessions and one-on-one admissions interviews.
