About The Position

The Admission Assessment Coordinator is responsible for conducting clinical assessments on potential patients of all ages to determine the need for inpatient psychiatric care. This role involves providing accurate assessment data to healthcare providers, offering alternatives and referrals for patients not requiring admission, and acting as a liaison between patients and on-call psychiatrists. The coordinator must maintain clear documentation and complete the admission process when necessary, utilizing appropriate psychiatric terminology.

Requirements

• BSN or MSN degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Community Health.
• Two years of work experience in a psychiatric-related setting.
• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current Alabama licensure.
• Prior inpatient hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to apply logical and scientific thinking to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow precise instructions.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergencies with appropriate actions.
