About The Position

The Server at Rivers Casino is responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences to guests by ensuring prompt, professional, and courteous service. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment. The Server must effectively communicate with guests and team members while adhering to hospitality standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a server in an upscale, full-service restaurant.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders.
• Must be able to obtain a gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).
• Ability to obtain a food handlers card.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a casino or gaming environment.
• Knowledge of wine and beverage service.

Responsibilities

• Sets the room for service, detailing all table accompaniments.
• Assists host in seating guests at the beginning of the shift and as needed.
• Acknowledges and greets guests by name when possible, developing rapport with them.
• Takes guest orders completely and accurately, using suggestive selling techniques.
• Describes dinner features, including menu changes and daily additions.
• Responds accurately and professionally to all guest inquiries.
• Accurately enters orders into the point of sale system.
• Ensures appropriate service items are on the table before each course.
• Maintains tables properly and is aware of their progress.
• Delivers food and beverages to the correct table and guest at the appropriate time.
• Clears plates and crumbs from the table in a timely manner.
• Offers dessert, espresso, and after-dinner cordials, ensuring proper service.
• Communicates effectively with kitchen, hosts, and management regarding guest needs.
• Presents checks and handles payments in a timely manner.
• Bids farewell to guests as they leave.
• Ensures side stations are stocked prior to and at the end of the night.
• Provides quality service to both internal and external guests.
