About The Position

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of nursing facility operational standards and participation requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Advanced training in hospital or nursing facility administration.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement regulations and nursing and medical practices and procedures.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and office equipment.
  • Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrators license or ability to meet Illinois licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, and direct the day-to-day functions of the facility and its programs.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of written policies and procedures governing facility operations.
  • Direct department directors in the development and use of departmental policies and procedures, fostering teamwork.
  • Establish policies that govern residents' rights to quality of life and care as defined by their comprehensive assessment and care plan.
  • Review facility policies with department directors and recommend changes to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Interpret facility policies to employees, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies as necessary.
  • Represent the facility at top-level meetings and participate in discussions.
  • Define the overall organizational structure of the facility.
  • Assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying and evaluating job-related functions.
  • Participate in facility surveys conducted by authorized government agencies.
  • Monitor MDS data transmissions to ensure accurate and timely resident assessment data transfer.
  • Direct the implementation of the facility's risk management program.
  • Assist in developing and implementing plans of action to correct identified quality deficiencies.
  • Oversee the planning of the facility's annual budget, work schedules, and training programs.
  • Conduct regular meetings with department directors and participate in training classes and orientation programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
  • Ensure residents' rights to fair treatment, self-determination, privacy, and civil rights are upheld.
