About The Position

The Administrator, PVMC will: Provide visionary leadership Serve as an active participant and leader in the City of Valdez Serve as liaison with the City of Valdez. Be responsible for administration and stewardship of the Management and Operating Agreement for Providence Valdez Medical, Extended Care and Counseling Center Motivate, facilitate and coach team and staff to deliver cost effective quality services Collaborate and influence organizational leaders in designing, innovating, expanding, refining and providing services across the continuum of care Develop effective relationships with leadership team, peers, physicians, staff, professional community and community PVMC Health Advisory Council Participate directly in program planning and evaluation, development of support/clinical functional plans and review of functional plans for support departments to assure congruence with clinical objectives and quality standards Develop, implement and evaluate programs to promote recruitment, retention, development and continuing education of all physicians and staff members as necessary to promote quality care delivery Strive for and consistently achieves excellence in care provided to patients. Direct development and implementation of facility and departmental policies consistent with state regulatory agencies ambulatory, home health, nursing home and acute care standards. Model time management, accountability, dedication, self-discipline, and responsibility Maintain and/or enhance the self-esteem of others through listening and responding with empathy and clear transmission of information. Answer inquiries accurately and in a timely manner. Regularly participate in on-going collaboration with medical director regarding clinical activities Strive to improve own level of competence through skill development, keeping abreast of trends and new developments in health care and management theory Determine type and number of staff positions required to provide safe and effective care. Recruits and maintains staff. Sets and tracks productivity. Set written standards for professional performance in accordance with the principles of professional practice and ethical conduct. Maintain evidence of credentials, license and training. Ensure continuing performance through written job descriptions, performance appraisals, in service education, continuing education and provision of appropriate books, journals and other tools. Actively participate in the determination of sound compensation and benefits programs that are aligned with the objectives of the organization Be responsible for the development of capital and operating budgets based on long and short term goals. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through control of assets and expenses including equipment and supplies which assures quality products as the most cost effective service quality Implement care/services that recognize age/diversity specific needs/issues of customers served Perform competencies for job and department as identified.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Health Management, Business; or other related field
  • Progressively responsible managerial and administrative experience
  • At least 5 years of Senior administration experience and previous experience working with medical staffs, committees and departments
  • The ability to perform duties and responsibilities promptly and consistently with little direct supervision in planning and organizing work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, clinical knowledge, teaching expertise and proficient written communication skills
  • At least 5 years of experience in Health Care Administration in an acute care setting
