About The Position

The Administrator on Duty Per Diem provides onsite administrative leadership to University Hospital during non-regular business hours on an as needed basis. Facilitates communication between clinical and non-clinical departments to meet the needs of the patients. Acts as Incident Commander during disaster situations. Facilitates throughput by triaging and providing patient bed assignments from within the system and outside facilities, ensuring appropriate level of staffing to meet patient care needs. The AOD Per Diem uses clinical and management skills to maintain accountability for management of fiscal and personnel resources in the delivery of services during non-regular business hours. Must be skilled in the provision of patient care to infant through adult patient populations. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • BSN required.
  • Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience required.
  • Three (3) years of first line supervisory/managerial experience required.
  • Candidates with a Master’s Degree must have five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, including at least two (2) years of first line supervisor/managerial experience.
  • BLS required.
  • Broad understanding of patient care processes.
  • Ability to apply principles of managerial and leadership theory.
  • Cognitive and technical knowledge to manage care delivery.
  • Ability to retrieve, communicate and present data and information.
  • Flexibility with work scheduling.
  • Sound knowledge of hospital operations and nursing practice.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities.
