Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050. The Administrative Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support to ensure efficient department operations at Pinto Valley Mine to support Mine Operations Department. The position works with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain accurate records, support business processes, and assist with planning and execution of department activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3–5 years of administrative experience in a professional environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Proficiency with standard office equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP or similar business systems
  • Experience supporting operations in a mining or industrial environment

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Prepare documents, proofread correspondence, and provide general office support.
  • Purchasing & Budget Support: Process purchase requisitions, service entries, expense reports, and track budgets.
  • Reporting: Generate and maintain routine reports including KPIs, safety statistics, and variances.
  • Document Control: Maintain organized hard copy and electronic filing systems.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Coordinate meetings, travel, and department events.
  • Office Operations: Manage office supplies, equipment, and mail distribution.
  • Data Entry & Records: Maintain accurate data entry and department records.
  • Forms & Systems: Update and maintain forms and administrative systems.
  • Contract Support: Assist with contract administration and documentation.
  • Training Support: Coordinate training room setup and logistics.
  • General Support: Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
