The Senior AV Specialist plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience through high-quality audio, lighting, and visual environments across our restaurants, lounges, and event venues. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with creative sensibility — ensuring seamless execution of live DJ performances, special events, and day-to-day venue operations. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of nightlife audio systems, lighting control, and live event production, along with strong leadership and project management skills. This role will officially report to the Director of IT and work under the direction of the Artistic Director at RDG.

  • Maintain AV systems for multiple RDG venues, including restaurants, bars, lounges, and outdoor spaces.
  • Configure and calibrate sound systems to optimize acoustics in diverse environments (e.g., dining areas vs. dance floors).
  • Manage video distribution, LED screens, projection, and lighting systems to match the brand aesthetic and event requirements.
  • Implement and maintain DJ booth setups, including mixers, turntables, controllers, and PA systems.
  • Oversee technical operations for live DJ sets, performances, private parties, and corporate events.
  • Coordinate directly with DJs, event producers, and entertainment teams to ensure flawless audio and lighting execution.
  • Troubleshoot issues in real time during events, minimizing disruptions and ensuring a premium guest experience.
  • Manage AV upgrades, renovations, and new venue openings.
  • Work with contractors and vendors to specify and procure equipment.
  • Ensure all installations meet RDG and professional standards for safety, aesthetics, and performance.
  • Provide IT first-look support at venues when available after hours.
  • Supervise freelance event techs.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for setup, teardown, and maintenance.
  • Train staff and management on AV system use and best practices.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain equipment inventory and ensure consistent performance across locations.
  • Recommend technology improvements and cost-effective solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in AV system design and live entertainment support, preferably in hospitality or nightlife settings.
  • Professional sound system tuning and configuration (QSC, JBL, L-Acoustics, etc.).
  • Lighting programming (DMX, Chauvet, MA Lighting, etc.).
  • Familiarity with DJ hardware/software (Pioneer, Serato, Rekordbox, etc.).
  • Networked audio/video systems and control platforms (Crestron, Extron, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, composure under pressure, and strong attention to detail.
  • Must be available for evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.
