About The Position

Provides specialized administrative support to Community Health and Newborn Screening Outreach, including data entry, scheduling, reporting, and coordination activities. Exercises independent judgment, initiative, and confidentiality while supporting leadership, outreach efforts, and public health operations.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; AND
  • High school diploma or possess a GED; OR
  • Three (3) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; AND one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarters).
  • Must possess a valid Tennessee driver's license or secure one upon date of employment.
  • Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet county requirements for automobile insurance upon date of employment
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and outreach assignments as required.
  • Must be able to type at least 25 words per minute.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a medical or clinical setting environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for Newborn Screening Outreach and provides cross-training to designated backup staff.
  • Provides administrative support to Clinical Services leadership, including scheduling, correspondence, recordkeeping, and data requests.
  • Collects, enters, maintains, and reviews program data to support reporting, compliance, and outreach activities.
  • Responds to inquiries, greets visitors, and supports the WIC call center and Clinical Health customer service functions.
  • Prepares and maintains official documents, including agendas, minutes, requisitions, records, and related administrative forms.
  • Supports outreach initiatives, grants, office operations, and participates in required public health emergency preparedness activities.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.
