About The Position

We are committed to supporting at risk children and families providing them with tools and resources to help prevent children from experiencing child abuse, neglect and abandonment. We are a Christian agency that believes in living our mission, we provide Christ-centered care and support to children and families in need. In response to this community-wide challenge, Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS), provides 14 programs and services in 28 locations, in Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana, which provide children with permanent homes and adults with increased self-sufficiency. Requirements

  • Minimum high school graduate, with advanced training or college coursework with databases preferred.
  • Experience working with Blackbaud NXT preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of database management experience, preferably working for a non-profit organization preferred.
  • Demonstrate initiative, efficient organization with time management skills and ability to set priorities.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills and able to maintain confidentiality in all areas related to the business, welfare and constituent information of the agency.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff throughout the agency.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, have and maintain a risk-free driving record.
  • Must be willing to undergo initial and periodic child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and childcare/elder care disqualification list screenings.
  • As requested, must submit fingerprints for review by the state of your employment and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
  • Must undergo a pre-employment drug screen and a pre-employment physical with the results showing no evidence of communicable disease.

Responsibilities

  • Provides full-time coverage of the front desk with approved M-F hours (except during the summer schedule): 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 pm. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Professionally represents the organization while answering calls and greeting in-person visitors
  • Provides clerical support for Development fundraising events, including enrolling luncheon guests into the Events Module (on behalf of all development officers) by preparing Texas luncheon name tags, table assignments, and pledge packets.
  • Manages donor stewardship activities, including first time donor postcards, taking credit card donations, calling donors when their credit cards expire, and mailing coupons.
  • Maintains office supplies inventory (including letterhead) and submits request for new supplies.
  • Assists with scheduling first floor Austin office meeting space for development staff and shipping items from Austin to remote development and program locations.
  • Maintains the agency’s phone script.
  • Processing approved thank you letters from the Vice President of Development
  • Coordinates all in-house development department mailing, and at times, with volunteers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
