About The Position

Greet visitors, respond to inquiries from students, parents, faculty, staff and the general public regarding department, college and university information. Hire and supervise student assistants. Support department in hiring a new tenure-track faculty and new full-time lecturer. Support department in coordination and close-out of department RPT cycle through Interfolio. Assist with annual scholarship award process. Assist with all aspects of event planning (departmental events, Open House, and Commencement etc.) Assist with bookkeeping support related to a variety of university related accounts and funding sources. Assist with faculty reimbursements. Assist department head and faculty with Concur travel requests and expense reports. Communicate policy updates and adjusts procedures as needed. Coordinate risk management documents (e. g. field trip waivers, travel insurance, personal vehicle forms, etc.), car rentals, and chartering of buses, and travel related forms and claims for students. Provide other general clerical and administrative support to include but not limited to drafting ordering equipment and supplies, processing forms for signatures, and assist with department communications (department mail, email, website, student e-digest, faculty office hours and syllabi, and social media).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Four years of general office support or technical experience.
  • Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience
