Requirements

  • At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields or in a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.
  • Knowledge of: Federal and State laws and regulations governing work assigned
  • Knowledge of: Office management and record keeping methods and practices
  • Knowledge of: Administrative report preparation practices; research and administrative survey techniques
  • Knowledge of: Work planning and organizing; business computer and communication systems
  • Ability to: Interact with immediate supervisors and senior managers, employees, and the public to gain their cooperation and to establish work relationships
  • Ability to: Formulate and recommend modifications to operational directives to attain agency goals
  • Ability to: Apply management practices, techniques, and methodologies to assigned activities
  • Ability to: Collect, assemble, and analyze facts and draw conclusions to recommend solutions to problems
  • Ability to: Identify and interpret program-administrative requirements, policies, and regulations to provide guidance and advice
  • Ability to: Organize and present facts and opinions to managers and groups
  • Ability to: Learn the structure, functions, goals, and policies of the Department of Health and Human Services

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Office Specialists across Omaha locations
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff
  • Build and sustain a high-performing, engaged team
  • Monitor performance and handle disciplinary actions when needed
  • Oversee daily office operations and customer service quality
  • Manage building operations and support site functionality
  • Attend meetings and provide operational data and updates
  • Serve as a key liaison for Economic Assistance eligibility operations in Omaha
