About The Position

Reports to the Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Managers and works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). Responsible for customer relations initial and ongoing contact with patients, their families, visitors, physicians, and other customers. Provides a variety of clerical duties associated with daily operations on the nursing unit. Actively participates in all aspects of the patient flow as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Adapts to changing environment to meet patient and department needs. Advocated for HHMC, department, patients, and coworkers. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required. Education in basic office procedures.
  • Two years of administrative support experience, required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and hospital staff.
  • Ability to use a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
  • Creates an environment that supports and respects diversity to promote creative problem solving.
  • Communicates the value of activities within the organization and community to gain cooperation and collaborative partnership.
  • Holds staff accountable for customer service standards and ensures service recovery when needed.
  • Ensures staff responds to customers in a timely manner.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
