About The Position

This position is located in the Medical Department at Pender Correctional Institution located in Burgaw, NC. This position reports directly to the Nurse Supervisor. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the Department Head and staff.

Requirements

  • Documented experience performing administrative functions in an office setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in organization, retention, review and filing of records.
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • maintaining medical records, documents and materials
  • verifying data, summarizing information, records management, claims review and processing
  • create and maintain spreadsheets to track specific information
  • maintain records filing according to policy
  • ordering supplies and materials
  • provide excellent customer service to outside medical providers, general public and facility staff
