About The Position

The Dean's Office of the College of Science, Technology, and Health at the University of Southern Maine is seeking an Administrative Specialist. The Administrative Specialist for the Dean's Office is responsible for a variety of administrative, office management, and clerical tasks that require strong organizational skills and flexibility. This role serves as the primary point of contact and an ongoing resource for both internal and external stakeholders, handling a wide range of verbal and written communications. Collaboration within a team is essential, along with a commitment to exceptional customer service, maintaining confidentiality, filling administrative coverage gaps as needed, and managing multiple tasks effectively. The position seeks an individual with sound judgment and initiative because work is typically carried out under general guidance rather than specific instructions. The position is located primarily on our Portland campus, and on occasion, events and coverage opportunities occur on other USM campuses.
