About The Position

The Administrative Specialist 2 position within the New York State Office of Information Technology Services involves overseeing the Business Office Administration team. Requirements

  • One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as an Administrative Specialist 2, SG-23.
  • Experience in a title SG-21 or above deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
  • Eligibility for 55b/c designation and possession of a current 55b/c eligibility letter.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Business Office Administration team and staff.
  • Participate in operational and project support activities.
  • Coordinate discussions with unit leads and managers regarding staff needs.
  • Plan engagements between DOL finance and administration and ITS finance and administrative units.
  • Perform analysis and create reports for leadership on finances and staffing.
  • Develop and update training plans in consultation with managers.
  • Create reports to track staff progress and provide to management.
  • Collaborate with others to identify staff development needs.
  • Assist schools with locating and disseminating instructional materials.
  • Negotiate pricing and renewal terms with vendors.
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes.
  • Prepare reports, memos, and other correspondence.
  • Organize office management tasks including ordering supplies and equipment.
