About The Position

This Administrative Services Cord II position directly supports staff and partners associated with the Risk Intervention Services (RIS) Division of Corrections. The person in this position supports roughly 60 staff and partners statewide within the Division to accurately document direct services provided to incarcerated individuals related to education, vocational training, and behavioral health in a division wide student information system (SIS) database. The person in this position is responsible for maintaining accurate and consistent SIS records associated with these services on a daily basis. This position is the main point of contact for documentation of student and participant enrollments, course schedules and registrations, attendance, assessments, and proficiencies related to RIS programs. The person in this position must maintain a working knowledge of Division program content to identify and implement procedural improvements that support operational needs and provide relevant training to providers. Maintenance of these records requires regular contact with multiple outside organizations including schools, colleges, and government agencies throughout the United States. Collaboration with external agencies may include other state divisions or departments to coordinate record release, retention, or exchange of protected personally identifiable client information in accordance with Federal and State laws. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.
  • One year of full-time college level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND two (2) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.
  • Two years of full-time college level study OR an associate's degree or higher in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND one (1) year or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.
  • Three years or more of full-time college level study OR a bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.
  • One (1) year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Coordinator I with the State of Vermont.
  • Candidates who have any felony conviction record or who, within the past five (5) years, have been placed under supervision or sanctioned for a misdemeanor conviction must receive a waiver from the Commissioner of Corrections in order to be considered for employment.
