The Administrative Security Assistant (PERSEC) position at Advantage SCI is a full-time role based in Washington, DC, with a hybrid work model requiring three days onsite each week. This role is crucial in supporting a federal agency's personnel security program. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the Human Resources (HR) and Security Divisions, providing essential support to HR staffing specialists and applicants throughout the onboarding process. Responsibilities include explaining the onboarding steps to applicants, responding to inquiries regarding the status of investigations, and initiating background investigation forms for applicants and employees based on their position's requirements. In addition to these duties, the Administrative Security Assistant will track the completion of security applications, conduct quality reviews of submitted applications, and present findings to federal employees to reduce the number of unacceptable submissions to the investigative service provider. The role also involves supporting the scanning and submission of fingerprint cards, ensuring that fingerprint results are classifiable, and assisting security division employees with various investigative elements such as credit reports and court records. The assistant will maintain an accurate inventory of personnel assigned by logging and processing incoming mail and responding to email inquiries promptly. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a Human Resources or Personnel Security-related field, or equivalent experience, along with at least two years of experience in Federal HR or Personnel Security. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with high-level visitors. The working conditions necessitate the ability to sit for extended periods, perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, and engage in various movements like bending and reaching.
