As an Administrative Rules Writer/Coordinator (Administrative Specialist 2) based in Salem, Oregon, your primary responsibilities are to coordinate, format, write, edit, and file the Fish Division’s administrative rules to meet legal and state requirements. This position also provides a variety of administrative support to the division and provides technical guidance and support at Columbia River Compact Meetings. Requirements

  • Two years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Administrative rule writing and coordination experience
  • Legal and technical writing and editing experience
  • Regulatory analysis and research experience
  • Experience planning, sequencing and delivering multiple timelines and deadlines
  • Experience with technical/biological terminology and ORS/OAR language
  • Experience with fishery management concepts and the regulatory frameworks that govern them (e.g., the Coastal Management Plan, U.S. v. Oregon agreements, and Endangered Species Act (ESA) regulations)
  • Experience coordinating public meetings
  • Experience compiling and producing monthly reports
  • Experience providing information to the public
