About The Position

At the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, our primary goal is to protect the environment and public health. We do this by ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental laws. Ohio EPA wants you to be our newest administrative professional (AP) with our Division of Drinking and Ground Waters (DDAGW) at the Northwest District Office in Bowling Green. As an AP, you'll handle administrative duties and provide essential support for the DDAGW team. Much of your work will involve gathering data and coordinating reviews of sampling and operational data provided by public water systems. These required reports are a critical part of Ohio EPA's responsibility to monitor the state's public water systems to ensure they are providing safe, quality drinking water. Using the agency's databases, you'll generate technical reports, assist in coordinating their review and upload and maintain these and other files in Ohio EPA's edocument center. For situations involving compliance issues, you'll prepare correspondence for the affected PWS including summary reports, draft letters, and violation notices. You'll assist with public complaints, inquiries, and requests for records received by DDAGW and coordinate with staff and management to review and furnish responses to these requests.

Requirements

  • 18 months experience or 18 months training in secretarial/administrative professional field.
  • Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college.
  • 6 months experience as Administrative Professional 1, 16871.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
