As an Administrative Manager at SGH in our Washington, DC office, you will play a pivotal role, serving as a leader, influencer, and guide to our administrative professionals. You will report to the Director of Administrative Services, as part of a team of Administrative Managers. In addition to supervising the local administrative and editorial staff, you will be a working member of the team, contributing to the day-to-day tasks and efficiency of your local office. You will be instrumental in ensuring consistent performance management and team recognition, achieved through skill development, knowledge sharing, and ongoing team education. Proactive time management and effective communication will play a vital role in driving your success. You’ll foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence while maintaining a strong commitment to client service and quality standards.

  • Supervise, mentor, and guide local administrative assistants and editors.
  • Partner with office leadership and the Director of Administrative Services to identify and implement process improvements that enhance team efficiency.
  • Manage office and document workloads.
  • Hold regular check-ins to gather feedback from technical staff and ensure their needs and expectations are being met.
  • Coordinate and assist staff with meetings, office events, catering, presentations, client seminars, etc., and manage calendar scheduling.
  • General and technical document processing, including proofreading, editing, and formatting documents to approved SGH style while promoting SGH standards of quality.
  • Comprehensive management of technical staff licenses, including tracking renewals and credits.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Process and file expense reports for internal customers.
  • 10+ years of relevant management and administrative experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, not required.
  • Experience in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Business and technical document preparation experience required.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required.
