About The Position

The intern will function under the supervision of the Chief Investigator or Deputy Chief Investigator, providing investigative support to investigators, assistant district attorneys and victim/witness advocates.

Requirements

• Current resident of the state of Wisconsin
• High School Diploma
• Personal Computer
• Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets. (Microsoft Word and Excel)

• The ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 20 LBS.
• Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Write routine reports, correspondence, and speak effectively before both internal and external groups.
• Establish, organize and maintain files, document management and data base searches.
• Work effectively and harmoniously with Internal and external group

• Students currently enrolled in Technical College and/or University.

Responsibilities

• Listen to, transcribe, and summarize jail calls and recorded statements of defendants; compile, organize and summarize case files; research criminal histories of defendants; and prepare charts, diagrams, and other exhibits for court presentation.
• Assist investigators, prosecutors, and victim/witness advocates in identifying threats and any safety concerns for victims and witnesses prior to court proceedings and trials.
