About The Position

The Administrative Graduate Assistant (AGA) will assist the School of Law’s Director of Public Affairs in her role as one of the principal contacts for those outside of the law school. Accordingly, the AGA will help the Director of Public Affairs maintain the image and standards of the law school for all events and publications, and other marketing endeavors. Specific services include, but are not limited to: helping with mailings and publications; assisting with photography and reporting of events; assisting with advertising in social and other media for events; editing and proofreading of materials; setting up or coordinating event logistics with other law school administrators; and helping with other duties related to the foregoing.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Pursuit of a graduate degree
  • Relevant training or experience in public relations, marketing, and/or communications
  • Possess managerial experience and have the ability to work on a variety of administrative matters
  • Have a professional demeanor
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail is also important
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature
  • Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop in order to conduct business
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds
