About The Position

As an Administrative Engineer, you will be responsible for performing complex, high-level technical and administrative work in engineering and construction management across multiple projects and programs. This position oversees the full lifecycle of construction projects, from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with established policies, regulations, and standards while managing time, cost, and quality to meet objectives.

Requirements

  • Education: Requires completion of a four (4) year college or university with a baccalaureate degree in one of the major fields of engineering.
  • Experience: Requires six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the administrative, design, planning and construction of engineering projects, including two (2) years of responsible supervisory and administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight and Schedule Management: Manage and coordinate multiple engineering and construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards; develop and maintain project schedules and track milestones.
  • Technical Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and review technical and administrative reports, including progress assessments, change orders, time extensions, and final closeout documentation; maintain accurate records of project activities and decisions.
  • Budget and Financial Management: Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets, including cost estimates, budget justifications, and financial tracking for capital improvement programs.
  • Stakeholder Coordination & Issue Resolution: Communicate project goals and updates to internal departments, external agencies, contractors, and the public; investigate complaints or inquiries and recommend corrective actions; participate in dispute resolution processes to mitigate risks.
  • Policy Development & Compliance: Contribute to the development and revision of departmental policies and procedures; monitor construction activities for compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Contract Administration: Review contractor submittals, progress payments, and claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
