About The Position

The Administrative Director of Perioperative Services at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown Campus in Greenville, SC, is responsible for the operations and success of Surgical and Peri-operative Services. This includes managing the Pre-Admission Testing, Pre-op, Operating Room, PACU, Central Sterile Processing, and Surgical Scheduling. The role has significant strategic and financial impact on the success of the St. Francis Greenville system, ensuring high-quality service delivery that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or an Associate's Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor's degree in Business or Health Related field.
  • Master's degree in Business Management, Healthcare Administration or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional level knowledge in management and business planning in a Surgical/Peri-operative Services setting.
  • Experience in supervising a large number of technical, clinical, and clerical employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to effect good medical-staff relations with specialty physicians.
  • Registered Nurse licensed to practice in South Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes annual operational and capital budgets in collaboration with physicians and departmental leadership.
  • Accountable for marketing, benchmarking, and planning for Surgical Services to achieve financial and operational objectives.
  • Participates in continuous improvement, cost containment, and reengineering of organizational processes.
  • Negotiates contract terms and business relationships with vendors and managed care providers.
  • Develops goals, objectives, and strategic plans consistent with Bon Secours Health Systems mission.
  • Markets and develops strategies to improve volumes and increase business.
  • Prepares project scope, financial forecasts, volume projections, and capital expenses for new projects.
  • Serves as a role model for cooperation within the Surgical/Peri-op Services Departments.
  • Acts as a major link in the communication process within and outside the operating center.
  • Demonstrates visibility and accessibility to staff through regular rounds and communication.
  • Establishes professional relationships with medical staff to ensure quality improvements.
  • Serves as a liaison with Medical Staff for planning and problem resolution.
  • Promotes cooperation with all departments and health professionals.
  • Collaborates with nursing and medical staff in developing and measuring patient care standards.
  • Encourages Registered Nurses to make effective decisions and delegates authority appropriately.
