About The Position

The Administrative Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is responsible for overseeing the accreditation processes for medical education programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, and managing the daily operations of these programs. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including C-Suite personnel, to promote GME initiatives and maintain program quality. The position also includes responsibilities for budget management, staff supervision, and program development, making it crucial for the success of medical education at the facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 3 years' experience in a graduate medical education or healthcare medical education setting.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of graduate medical education experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain oversight of the accreditation process for specialty programs and institutional accreditation.
  • Direct administrative operations and daily management of all medical education programs.
  • Support and monitor resident activities via program directors and coordinators.
  • Facilitate ongoing readiness for ACGME Annual Institutional Review and assist in submission of executive summaries.
  • Oversee resident work hours, supervision, and evaluation processes to meet ACGME requirements.
  • Track residency program citations and develop action plans to address them.
  • Responsible for annual institutional WebADS program update to ACGME.
  • Facilitate program letters of agreement and oversee inter-institutional affiliation agreements.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of each specialty area through the resident management suite.
  • Develop mechanisms to ensure appropriate teaching of ACGME competencies.
  • Liaison between programs and division GME leadership.
  • Assist hospitals in creating new residency programs through the application process.
  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding logistics for residents and GME staff.
  • Manage GME physician agreements with facility and division leadership.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for related programs.
  • Supervise daily activities of program coordinators and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Assist in managing residents in coordination with program directors.
  • Work with GME leadership to create/update affiliation agreements and address legal responsibilities.
