About The Position

The Administrative Director of Cardiology Services provides strategic and operational leadership for all cardiology services, including the Cardiac Cath Lab, Pre/Post Holding Units, Stress Lab, Cardiac Ultrasound, Vascular Lab, and associated staff. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, managing departmental resources efficiently, and maintaining compliance with corporate, hospital, and regulatory standards. The Director fosters a collaborative environment with physicians, clinical staff, and other healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required or
Seven (7) plus years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree required
3-5 years of experience in closely related field with Bachelor's degree required
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage cross-functional relationships.

Communicate effectively with leadership, team members, and stakeholders.

Proficiency with Google and Microsoft platforms, healthcare software systems, and data analysis tools.
BCLS - Basic Life Support required

Nice To Haves

Master's Degree preferred
3-5 years of previous leadership experience preferred
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure preferred
RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist preferred or
CVN - Cardiac Vascular Nurse preferred

Responsibilities

Provides strategic direction for all Cardiology Services, ensuring programs, clinical practices, and scope of services align with organizational objectives and evidence-based standards of care.
Oversees the integration of innovative practices and technologies to enhance patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
Assesses patient acuity and departmental needs to allocate resources effectively, including staffing adjustments, equipment purchases, and technology upgrades.
Collaborates with physicians, nursing leadership, ancillary staff, and discharge planners to coordinate patient care and optimize service delivery across the continuum of care.
Serves as a clinical and operational resource to staff, promoting professional development, evaluating competencies, and modeling best practices in cardiology services.
Partners with hospital and corporate leadership to evaluate financial performance, analyze variances, and develop strategies to meet budgetary goals while supporting high-quality patient care.
Participates in hospital-wide strategic planning and cross-departmental initiatives to support organizational growth and patient care excellence.

Monitors expenditures, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services.
Evaluates and implements new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures and protocols to optimize quality and overall efficiencies.
Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies. May oversee the accreditation process with relevant agencies ensuring that services meet or exceed industry standards.
Participates in audits, inspections and accreditation processes as applicable.
Follows established quality control practices to ensure accuracy, consistency and safety.
Works closely with leadership teams to coordinate and improve service delivery.
Stays up-to-date with industry advancements, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
May work in a staff role, when required. Ensures that duties and responsibilities are fulfilled while meeting all competencies established for that job.
