The Administrative Director of Acute Care Nursing provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and professional guidance across acute care services to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, safe, and patient‑centered care. The incumbent partners closely with nursing and interdisciplinary leaders to translate organizational vision, strategic priorities, and performance goals into actionable plans at the unit level. This role serves as a key resource to unit leadership by providing expert guidance and support in the interpretation, implementation, and execution of organizational strategies, regulatory requirements, and evidence‑based practices. The Administrative Director works collaboratively with nurse managers and directors to align clinical operations with enterprise goals related to quality outcomes, patient experience, workforce engagement, fiscal stewardship, and regulatory compliance. Through coaching, mentoring, and performance oversight, the incumbent strengthens leadership capability at the unit level, promotes accountability for outcomes, and drives consistent standards of nursing practice across acute care areas. The Administrative Director plays a critical role in fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development while supporting leaders in achieving sustained operational and clinical performance. The Administrative Director of Nursing reports to the Vice President of Patient Care or the Chief Nursing Officer. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a bachelors in another field and a master’s degree in nursing.
  • Master’s in Nursing or Healthcare Administration required. Will consider candidates working towards completion of the degree.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership and management skills and outcomes towards leading nursing sensitive indicator improvements.
  • Registered Nurse Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification as a Nursing Administrator of Nursing Executive through an approved accrediting body to be completed within 2 years of hire.
