About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to provide administrative support for the Department of Pediatrics Primary Care and Clinical Informatics sections, specifically General Pediatrics, Community Pediatrics, and Adolescent Medicine. This role involves assisting the Primary Care Office Manager with planning, event coordination, purchasing, and scheduling. UAMS is Arkansas’ only comprehensive academic health sciences center, dedicated to a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that foster teamwork and diversity, aiming to improve patient care and the lives of Arkansans. The institution educates and trains the majority of the state’s health professionals through innovation, compassion, teamwork, and patient- and family-centered care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of general administrative office support experience, or Associate's degree plus four (4) years of general administrative office support experience.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interdependently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates office activities with the office manager and other professional staff within and outside the assigned unit.
  • Submits clinic modifications to ACH to communicate changes to physician schedules.
  • Gathers information for credentialing for the Primary Care and Clinical Informatics Faculty
  • Assist in updating the Primary Care and Clinical Informatics profiles on the UAMS website
  • Assist with provider travel preparation and general purchasing for assigned sections.
  • Management of IT inventory in the Primary Care and Clinical Informatics Sections
  • Assists in filing, upkeep of office equipment, mail and faxes, copier meter readings, updating eFund reports, IT, and maintenance requests
  • Request privileges for department security access for software and shared drives/folders for faculty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
