About The Position

The Administrative Coordinator for Education at the Folger Shakespeare Library plays a vital role in supporting the Education team by providing administrative and project support. This position is essential for maintaining the efficiency of various educational programs and initiatives, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring that projects are executed smoothly. The coordinator will assist in research, manage logistics for events, and serve as a key point of contact for both internal and external communications.

Requirements

  • B.A. degree or equivalent, with a background in English, Humanities, Museum Studies, or Education desirable.
  • A minimum of three years of experience working in an administrative capacity is required.
  • Demonstrated management of assigned projects, budget tracking, and administrative work required.
  • History of responsibility over projects, tasks, and relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a cultural institution is desired but not required.
  • Knowledge of WordFly or similar software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Education in maintaining the director's calendar, monitoring and responding to emails, and setting up meetings.
  • Undertake research and draft correspondence as needed.
  • Coordinate the administrative aspects of Education's work, including scheduling, supporting online and onsite events and meetings, and answering general inquiries.
  • Manage all logistics for Education's national professional development work, both online and onsite.
  • Support Folger Education Mentor Teacher's work across the country, including organizing training retreats and professional development workshops.
  • Help manage Folger Education's student experience programs, including scheduling tours and workshops and coordinating with partners.
  • Assist with the Folger's Docent program, including scheduling continuing education sessions and tracking Docent hours.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of Letters of Agreement or Contracts related to Folger Education's work.
  • Process invoices and payments for the department and assist in monitoring project budgets.
  • Maintain the Folger Teaching section of the Folger website, including content uploads and event page creation.
  • Coordinate the department's communication calendar and participate in creating BardNotes communications.
  • Maintain current department databases, mailing lists, and WordFly lists.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications department on Folger Education's social media.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for public inquiries about education programs and resources.
  • Participate in education-related working groups and projects involving various stakeholders.
