About The Position

The Clinical Office Assistant will be responsible for working with a criminal justice population participating in a community-based residential program. The Clinical Office Assistant is responsible for assisting with administrative and scheduling duties in the Health and Wellness Center and assuring that the medical and mental health needs of HealthRIGHT 360 client needs are met.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to clear and maintain a background clearance (must be off of Parole or Probation).
  • Experience serving seriously and persistently mentally ill clients with co-occurring challenges.
  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of interdisciplinary team and independently assume responsibility.
  • A clear understanding of, and the ability to demonstrate, professional ethics, boundaries, and judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist staff and clients schedule and manage medical appointments and other needs in accordance with treatment objectives and as instructed by supervisor.
  • Schedule medical, dental, and mental health appointments with appropriate medical clinics in community.
  • Coordinate pharmacy services and delivery of medication.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor mental health and medical telehealth services.
  • Interface with multidisciplinary team in service delivery.
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with applicable Federal, state, and local standards.
  • Complete administrative duties associated with the Wellness Center.
  • Coordinate all medical services with other providers and complete all coordinated care documentation.
  • Keep organized records for logging received medication and tracking new medication as per the agency standards.
  • Coordinate with residents, counselors, nurse, CDCR staff, and outside providers regarding medical treatment, appointments, medication, and follow-up.
  • Organize medical requests from residents and submit the documentation to CDCR and program staff.
  • Schedule medical, dental, and mental health appointments with community providers, complete resident documentation (medical requests forms, passes, etc.), coordinate transportation, and maintain a centralized appointment calendar.
  • Communicate with pharmacies and staff regarding medication delivery.
  • Consult with staff regarding clients with medical conditions.
  • Coordinate and keep accurate documentation of on-site testing for alcohol and drug screening.
  • Assist with the documentation of medication including accurate logging and tracking.
  • Enter personal medical history forms and other medical documentation into EMR and communicate with medical personnel when necessary.
  • Network with community stakeholders and communicate effectively regarding our resident's medical treatment.
  • Keep accurate records of client care in accordance with applicable Federal, State and local requirements.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Participate in the ongoing integration of behavioral health and primary care within the agency.
  • Provide formal and informal education to staff within the agency.
  • Assist in creating agency policies and protocols in regard to medication and medical appointment procedures as well as facilitate staff trainings regarding such policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
