About The Position

This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered. As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen. The Admin Clerk specializes in the ability to track and obtain initial specialty care and deferred to network primary care referrals, including obtaining clear legible reporting (CLR) from military treatment facilities (MTF), network, and non-network providers. Responsibilities include chasing CLRs NLT 60 days from when the referral was entered or when there is evidence of a claim, completing CLR uploads no later than 180 calendar days after the order entry date, importing/scanning CLRs into the correct patients’ medical record, following up with MTF specialty care providers who did not complete CLR referral results in accordance with business rules, and preparing referral management data reports/metrics using referral tracking data tools. The role requires demonstrating medical ethics, telephone etiquette, office, administrative, and clerical skills to provide positive, courteous, and professional customer service support to patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Must have one (1) year of healthcare administrative experience in either an inpatient or outpatient care setting within the last three (3) years.
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
  • Operational computer skills with general working knowledge of word processing and Microsoft applications.
  • Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

  • College classes or degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn computer applications, such as MHS Genesis.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, speak, and write English fluently.
  • Perform general office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties and answer telephones.
  • Utilize operational computer skills with general working knowledge of word processing and Microsoft applications (including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Prepare referral management data reports/metrics using referral tracking data tools.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of or ability to learn computer applications, such as MHS Genesis.
  • Provide general medical ethics, telephone etiquette, written/verbal/electronic communication, and customer service skills.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
