About The Position

The Power Systems Engineering Research Center (PSERC), within the School of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering, invites applications for a full-time Administrative Associate. This position reports to the PSERC Director. The Administrative Associate performs complex administrative functions: planning, organizing, and carrying out duties in accordance with established goals, priorities, time, and funding limitations. These functions include: event planning (e.g., meetings and webinars), document preparation, webpage maintenance, front desk support, and various administrative services that require initiative and judgment as well as the ability to work independently under general direction. At the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, we are delivering a world-class learning experience for our students and advancing research and innovation — all at scale. The Fulton Schools research enterprise leads use-inspired research and key national initiatives, including the Southwest Advanced Prototyping Hub, accelerating microelectronics and workforce development for the Department of Defense. We also lead the Electrified Processes for Industry Without Carbon Clean Energy Manufacturing Institute, supported by the Department of Energy, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and strengthen manufacturing. Additionally, we lead an NSF Engineering Research Center developing sustainable civil infrastructure and partner with another ERC advancing clean water technology. The Fulton Schools hosts numerous research centers that leverage faculty expertise to drive engineering innovation and entrepreneurship across four interdisciplinary impact areas: Climate Technology Solutions, Competitive Manufacturing in an Advanced Economy, National and Economic Security, and Technology-Enhanced Health and Medicine. Requirements

  • High School Diploma and three years (3) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Administrative coordination experience in higher education
  • Experience with the planning and execution of professional meetings
  • Experience preparing correspondence and reports
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with faculty, staff, student, community partners and other stakeholders.
  • Experience maintaining web pages, distribution lists, and using web forms
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with meeting planning tools (e.g., online registration)
  • Experience in handling invoices and maintaining financial records
  • Experience in processing travel reimbursement and handling purchasing requests
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience maintaining websites
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication
  • Tact, diplomacy, and ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and problem solve
