About The Position

The Administrative Associate I is responsible for providing administrative, organizational, data entry, data verification, accounting, and customer service skills to the International Goat Research Center, Poultry Center, the Meat Laboratory Center within the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding. This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of related experience.
  • Positive attitude for greeting customers and clients in a friendly and warm manner upon arrival to the office or through the phone.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Maintain copier, (copy machine) – paper, ink, service calls, etc.
  • Time management skills to be able to prioritize activities, especially when there is a high volume of tasks.
  • Positive attitude for greeting customers and clients in a friendly and warm manner upon arrival to the office or through the phone.
  • Be able to communicate with internal team members or clients and understand their needs.
  • Strong organizational skills to keep multiple calendars organized.
  • Administrative skills to be able to use basic computer programs including Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to be able to move between activities and duties quickly if priorities change.
  • Use of standard office equipment and personal computers.

Responsibilities

  • Create requisitions in Panther Buy, Upload requested documents to DocuSign; corrections/adjustments.
  • Creates a welcoming environment by greeting guests, answering phone calls, directing visitors, and taking messages for employees, when needed; Schedule travel for visiting professors, prospective candidates, etc.
  • Provides routine support for teams when necessary.
  • Prepare Request Documents, as needed, for office staff and other key personnel.
  • Participates and assists in college-wide events, activities, committees and performs other duties as necessary.
