About The Position

Hudson Public schools is seeking a 10 month Administrative Assistant to work in our Student Services department located in the Administrative Building. The Student Services Administrative Assistant performs a variety of duties in support of the Student Services Department and in association with the operation of the schools, staff, students, parents and the public.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma/GED required
  • Associates/Bachelors degree required
  • Three years of related experience in a secretarial, clerical or administrative setting is required.
  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints

Nice To Haves

  • School or municipal experience is desired.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for these requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the IEP meetings for the Office of Student Services
  • Contacts parents, staff and administrators about cancellations and new IEP meetings
  • Answers telephone and forwards calls if necessary.
  • Provides information to callers.
  • Updates and maintains eSped IEP student record database.
  • Serves as a resource on all school based information for students, staff, administration, parents and the public.
  • Orders office supplies and school supplies; unpacks and distributes same.
  • Maintains confidential personnel and student files.
  • Provides secretarial support for Principals and other administrators.
  • Generates reports as needed.
  • Maintains Office of Student Services calendar of events that impact IEP meetings
  • Assists in office to keep IEP process moving when staff are not present
  • Performs a variety of related duties
  • Support the Coordinators of Special Ed Evaluation and Services (K-5) and (6-12), Team Chair/School Psychologist (PK) and Assistant Director of Student Services (Out of District) through the evaluation and Team meeting process for Preschool through post graduate students.
  • Schedule meetings (initial, re-evaluation, annual review and others) throughout the district, prepare, and send appropriate notices to staff and parents.
  • Answer phones, take messages and provide information to callers
  • Generate appropriate notices for evaluations and meetings determined by the Evaluation Directors.
  • Coordinate and copy IEP packets for Evaluation Directors for Team meetings.
  • Enters accurate data into IEP program for Indicator and district information.
  • Perform a variety of related duties to support the needs of students in a collaborative manner.
