Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast. GMC has an opening for an Administrative Assistant to support their office in Cartersville, GA. Requirements

  • 0–3 years of experience in an administrative, clerical, or office support role preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with a professional demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Basic understanding of office equipment and standard administrative systems
  • Familiarity with clerical procedures, including recordkeeping and filing systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain reliability

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates courier services and manages incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, distribution, and tracking as needed
  • Answers, screens, and directs incoming phone calls in a professional manner
  • Prepares, types, and formats correspondence, reports, memos, charts, tables, graphs, and other business documents
  • Proofreads and edits documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, grammar, and consistent formatting
  • Maintains organized digital and physical filing systems for correspondence, reports, and project documentation
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings, travel arrangements, conferences, social events, and departmental activities
  • Assists with organizing surveying schedules and provides recording and research support for the survey department as required
  • Collaborates with engineering teams to support project scheduling, timelines, and cross-functional coordination
  • Prepares and processes addendums and related project documentation
  • Greets and assists clients, visitors, and vendors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Works closely with office leadership to support daily administrative and operational needs
  • Performs additional administrative duties as assigned to support overall office efficiency
