About The Position

Performs a wide variety of administrative and support services within the Infectious Disease Department of General Medicine. Under the direction of the practice leadership team, assists in overseeing the front-end back-end clerical operations for the Infectious Disease Practice. Assists in the planning and support of program activities. Coordinates office operations.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree plus two (2) years of administrative experience in a medical practice or related health care business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. is required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing schedules of multiple physicians, accounting for vacation, on-service time, meetings and last minute and on-call and surgery changes.
  • Responsible for monitoring referral work queue.
  • Responsible for creating and overseeing the on-call schedule for physicians and communicating the schedule to the ID division administrator and Anserve.
  • Responsible for overseeing front desk initiatives to improve clinic flow in the scheduling and registration process and leading initiatives involving MyChart for direct scheduling.
  • Responsible for creating and overseeing APN and nursing schedules.
  • Pro-actively evaluating and surveilling of issues with physician schedules such as coverage holes in the clinic schedules (such as coverage holes in the clinic schedule with too many physicians on service or on vacation at the same time.
  • Assists in the audit performance of front desk financial staff for compliance with financial goals, established productivity standards, non-medical regulatory standards, and patient/physician satisfaction goals. Implements new or modified proceduresas needed.
  • Coordinates data collection and assures accuracy and time entry of data based on practice guidelines; provides accurate status for other related reports to management monthly as directed.
