About The Position

GDIT's Military Health Team is hiring an Administrative Assistant to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) in Bethesda, MD. This role requires current or prior Department of Defense (DoD) experience. The Administrative Assistant will support the planning, development, and coordination of various management and administrative functions, including personnel, budget, administration, and program management. Key responsibilities involve researching documents, forms, and reporting systems to implement new systems and administrative updates, as well as providing training and support to the MTF workforce on organizational policies and procedures. The position also entails collaborating with multiple agencies to ensure legal sufficiency, assisting in resolving critical conflicts by providing appropriate policies, and developing and evaluating administrative techniques for forms and issuances/instructions management. Additionally, the role supports the principal human resource liaison with civilian personnel matters, assists staff with the Defense Travel System (DTS), aids administrative leadership in implementing issuances/instructions and forms management programs, and utilizes automated systems such as AUTONOA, Timekeeping, and Civilian Personnel Data System. The assistant will also be responsible for managing and maintaining key organizational data, rosters, and taskers. The anticipated work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, on-site, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, administration, business or related work experience in liue of degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant DoD administrative experience.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to draft, edit, review DoD correspondence in support of operations.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to execute assigned tasks with minimal leadership oversight – well organized, self-motivated, and disciplined.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1, public trust prior to start date.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, development, and coordination of a variety of management/ administrative functions, in areas such as personnel, budget, administration, and program management.
