We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our office, providing essential support to both staff and clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Staff the Visitor Center/Museum/Chamber office Monday-Thursday, adjusting hours as necessary for outside meetings and events.
  • Assist with managing daily administrative office operations.
  • Maintain the Visitor Center, Museum, and office to present a positive image for Bridge City.
  • Respond to inquiries made in person, by phone, email, or standard mail in a friendly and informative manner.
  • Assist with recommendations for area businesses, restaurants, or hotels by suggesting Chamber members.
  • Monitor and process the Visitor Center, Museum, and Chamber's mail, voicemail, email, website, and social media.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records.
  • Maintain office filing systems for paper, electronic files, photos, event binders, and other materials.
  • Send announcements for events and meetings via the Visitor Center and Chamber's website, social media, and press releases.
  • Provide assistance and support to the Director and Chamber members, including communications, meeting setup, problem-solving, and project planning.
  • Monitor and maintain the supply of printed material available for distribution.
  • Update the Visitor Center/Museum/Chamber website calendar, membership listing, press releases, and event information.
  • Assist with Chamber programs and events.
  • Clean and maintain the Chamber/Museum/Visitor Center and Storage Building.
  • Solicit members to acquire gift certificates/gift cards for monthly award winners.
  • Prepare certificates and award winners' gift bags for Monthly Networking Coffee.
  • Create and send out press releases for award winners and events as needed.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.
  • Job enthusiasm and desire to help reach the Chamber's goal of progressive growth in trade and economy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire to maintain Bridge City history and educate museum visitors.
  • Attention to detail to maintain accurate and organized records.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Constant Contact, Canva, Word Press, Quickbooks, and ability to learn new programs as needed.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people.
  • Ability to manage and work on multiple projects at one time.
  • Fundraising and events management experience.
  • Knowledge of the Bridge City community and Orange County.
  • Customer service experience (1 year preferred).
  • Part-time position with flexible hours.
  • PTO for hours worked outside of 24 hours per week.
