Reporting to Court Administrator, the Administrative Assistant-Tribal Court provides essential clerical and administrative support to ensure the smooth daily operations of the Tribal Court. This entry level role assists Tribal Court staff and judges by performing routine office tasks, maintaining records, supporting scheduling needs, and upholding culturally respectful and confidential court processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Clerical and Office Support Under the supervision of the Tribal Court Administrator, assists with preparing and formatting basic court correspondence and interdepartmental requests. Assists with preparing, managing, and updating case procedure manuals. Files administrative materials using established filing systems. Monitors office supplies and notifies Tribal Court Administrator when restocking is needed. Handles incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and phone calls with professionalism and cultural sensitivity. 2. Scheduling and Coordination Support Helps update and maintain internal Tribal Court meeting calendars. Provides reminders for upcoming project deadlines or required scheduling for internal court meetings. Communicates updates regarding meetings to entities as instructed by Tribal Court senior staff. Distributes internal memos and public notices prepared by senior staff as directed by senior Tribal Court staff. As directed by the Tribal Court Administrator, supports communication with Tribal Citizens, elders, attorneys, and community partners. 3. Records and Administrative Support At the direction of the Tribal Court Administrator, assists with maintaining and updating administrative records in accordance with established procedures. Performs basic data entry, invoice logging, and expense tracking as assigned. Maintains confidentiality and data security in all court-related documentation and communications. Under the supervision of the Tribal Court Administrator, helps prepare simple reports or summaries for use by Tribal Court staff. Assists the Tribal Court Administrator with the maintenance of statistical data and information of Tribal Court case files for tracking and reporting purposes. Maintains the Tribal Court library. Assists with the management of the Tribal Court website and the production of various educational pamphlets, presentations, and training materials for distribution to the Tribal Community and the community at-large. 4. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
