About The Position

The Eberly College of Science Biology Department at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking qualified candidates for an Administrative Support Assistant - Senior support position. This position will provide administrative and financial support by performing the following tasks: Collecting and organizing necessary documentation such as receipts, travel information, and related materials to submit to the appropriate financial hubs for processing. Serve as a liaison between the Research Office, the financial hubs at both the college and university levels. Provide backup support to the Administrative Manager for budget-related functions and processes. Routine and regular communication with faculty members and other members of the Biology department. Collect and maintain departmental sponsored account requests. Schedule and maintain department conference calendars. The ideal candidate should possess: Strong investigative skills with the ability to use creative thinking to improve existing and develop new duties and business processes. Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to handle multiple priorities, monitor, and meet overlapping deadlines. Positive, professional, and efficient work style. Initiative, collegiality, accuracy and promote a culture that is conducive to effective relationships among diverse team members.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree
  • 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Strong investigative skills with the ability to use creative thinking to improve existing and develop new duties and business processes.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
