About The Position

UPMC is hiring a full-time Administrative Assistant - Senior to support their Division of Pediatric Endocrinology team at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh! The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for children with diabetes mellitus, hypoglycemia and disorders of physical growth, sexual maturation, thyroid function, pituitary function, and calcium and phosphorous metabolism. The Pediatric Endocrine Testing Center provides diagnostic endocrine tests for patients (both children and adults) in areas of endocrinology and carbohydrate, amino acid, and mineral and lipid metabolism. The center addresses growth abnormalities and the range of conditions that can cause them. As a nationally recognized research center, UPMC Children's Hospital's Division of Pediatric Endocrinology participates in the latest clinical studies, which involve human volunteers and are intended to add to our medical understanding.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience in an increasingly responsible administrative support role.
  • Ability to perform advanced functions in word processing, electronic mail/calendar, spreadsheet, presentation and database software.
  • Ability to use applicable MS Suite products.
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and financial principles and functions.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Ability to use discretion and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides input to presentations and other department/supervisor work.
  • Develops and sends correspondence on behalf of department and department head.
  • Plans conferences for department and department head.
  • Under general direction, provides varied administrative support to a department or group of professionals.
  • Maintains supervisor's calendar and proactively schedules meetings.
  • Maintains various accounting and budgetary records.
  • Develops reports for executive or department and analyzes complex information requests.
  • Reviews administrative procedures and operating practices and makes recommendations to increase efficiency.
