Requirements

  • Associates Degree is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of the beginning of employment.
  • 1-3 years of clerical/administrative experience required, medical/healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and documents precautions and implications for PT treatment intervention from medical history screening process.
  • Identifies and documents learning preferences and educational barriers.
  • Utilizes appropriate functional assessment indexes for goal and treatment planning.
  • Maintains statistics and submits reports to coordinator accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Enters accurate and timely charges on the day of treatment.
  • Performs appropriate specific tests and measures to identify patient problems to establish an occupational therapy diagnosis.
  • Implements all treatment techniques, modalities and equipment in accordance with the treatment protocols, policies, procedures and competencies of the department.
  • Assesses and documents patient response to treatment and learning on routine basis.
  • Assesses and documents patient discharge status, goal status and discharge needs/plan and discusses with primary PT.
  • Establishes a collaborative relationship with referring practitioners through effective communication.
