Job Summary: Provides administrative support to corporate legal counsel with focus on Company legal matters. Researches legal information and assists with preparing contracts and correspondence, under the direction of an attorney.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of legal terminology, principles, and practices.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to show information in presentation or diagram form.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
  • Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching, or handling.
  • Frequently required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing).
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver, or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, or squat.
  • Occasionally required to stand or walk.
  • Attendance at work is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in collecting and organizing due diligence materials, discovery, and factual information relative to Company legal matters.
  • Organizes and tracks files for important contracts, transactions, or other legal matters including maintaining contract-management and case-management databases.
  • Evaluates incoming documentation and escalates time sensitive matters to the appropriate personnel.
  • Tracks, summarizes, and prepares information for reporting purposes.
  • Organizes and tracks files for real estate, transactional closings, litigation matters and corporate governance documents.
  • Responds to governmental and other public agencies regarding general corporate information.
  • Prepares and files corporate renewals and other corporate-related filings as requested.
  • Remains up to date regarding procedures related to Company operations.
  • Maintains and coordinates schedules and answer phones.
  • Assists Legal team and Executive Team with special projects.
